Another lorikeet shot. He's being pissy because he's short enough that I can take a picture of the top of his head. I like the feather details, though. The color patterns on a single feather from one of these guys are simply extraordinary.
Here's a sad little lorikeet story: One day a lorikeet hopped on my arm, and I was all like, "Aww, he's so cute!" and then it bit really hard on the the little joint between my upper and lower arm, and the bite swelled into an ugly little puncture wound. This was on a day when I hadn't gotten much sleep, so I also had some eye bags going on. So with the eye shadows and the little hole in my arm I looked like a heroin addict for the rest of the day! Not exactly the professional look we try to keep here at the aquarium...
