This was shot from another little beach at Coconut Island. It also shows the mountains of the east side of Oahu. I thought that this was one of the most beautiful views I had ever seen. The water, the jungle-covered mountains, and the sky just blended together perfectly.
The pipe at the right is the island's abandoned sewer line. Back when Coconut Island was owned by some rich guy, the line dumped all the sewage straight into the ocean. Fortunately, times have changed, and it's not used anymore.

It's a protected area, so I don't think you can legally swim there. But if I'm selected to work there after taking some classes at the university, I'll probably be allowed to snorkel around there to monitor the reefs or something. At least, that's what I hope. It would make me VERY happy if I could swim there.
