I couldn't decide if I liked [link] or this more. So you get both.
The red fuzzy stuff is called "pedicellariae". These are tiny little claws that cover an enchinoderm's skin, and they can be used for self-cleaning or fighting other seastars.

Hey! So I went to Hawai'i! I visited Hawai'i, Maui (+ The Ocean Center!) Kauai'i, and Oahu!
In Maui, the hotel I stayed had some amazing fish right next to the shore. I saw sea turtles, unicorn tangs, convict tangs, Moorish Idols, Yellow Tangs, Picasso Triggers, and plenty of others! In Kauai'i, I checked out some tide pools and found sea cucumbers just resting there! It was an amazing trip for interests! Plus, the day we left the Sheraton got a surprise visitor! A MONK SEAL! Just chilling on the beach. They roped her off so no one could approach, but she didn't seem to mind everyone staying at a distance taking pictures.
The Ocean Center was fantastic. So many things I didn't know. They have an adorable little Octopus, beautiful Frog Fishes, a nice tank of Moon Jellies and so much more! (I'm sure you've been there but ugh. I loved it.)
